Clinrton sleaze

Ben Smith's Blog: Not the first time - Politico.com: "This isn't the first time Clinton has invoked Bobby Kennedy's assassination as part of an argument about the length of the primary process. On March 6 she told Time :

I think people have short memories. Primary contests used to last a lot longer. We all remember the great tragedy of Bobby Kennedy being assassinated in June in L.A. My husband didn't wrap up the nomination in 1992 until June, also in California. Having a primary contest go through June is nothing particularly unusual. We will see how it unfolds as we go forward over the next three to four months."

Clinton sleaze

Dana Milbank - This Is an Ex-Candidate - washingtonpost.com: "2:57 p.m., Yeager Airport, Charleston, W.Va.: A steep descent brings Clinton's plane to Charleston's hilltop airport. After an appropriate wait, she steps from the plane and pretends to wave to a crowd of supporters; in fact, she is waving to 10 photographers underneath the airplane's wing. She pretends to spot an old friend in the crowd, points and gives another wave; in fact, she is waving at an aide she had been talking with on the plane minutes earlier.

She stops at Ellen's Homemade Ice Cream and orders a scoop of espresso Oreo and a scoop of butter pecan. 'Ooh, that looks good,' she says after taking the confection, then pauses. 'Now, let's see. Who's got my money?' asks the woman who has lent her campaign $11 million to keep it afloat. She laughs. 'Where -- where'd they go, the people with my money?' Finally, two aides arrive"

Clinton racism

The Daily Dish | By Andrew Sullivan: "One remarkable aspect of this race that I certainly didn't expect but that the Clintons must be relishing: they may be becoming the vehicle for white racial resentment! When you recall how many of these voters felt about the Clintons in the 1990s, you really need a double take. But if the Clintons bring down the first serious black candidate for the presidency, they could ride a wave of redneck gratitude toward a re-branding in American politics. The Clintons would have no qualms about this - and obviously don't. What the Clintons have to be in order to keep power, they will manage to be."

Huckabee says Obama's former pastor needs him to lose - International Herald Tribune

Huckabee says Obama's former pastor needs him to lose - International Herald Tribune: "'His (Obama's) campaign is not being derailed by his race, it's being derailed by a person who doesn't want him to prove that we have made great advances in this country,' Huckabee told reporters."

"Jeremiah Wright needs for Obama to lose so he can justify his anger, his hostile bitterness against the United States of America," Huckabee said.
